Mayo will be buzzing all week

It is all systems go in the west as Ballinrobe gets set to race on Monday, July 24th and Tuesday 25th, when the features include a family funday and the Cliona Hagan Race Dance. Monday is an  all-flat card sponsored by Tote Ireland, with the feature race of the evening, the Tote Exacta Handicap worth €22,000, going to post just after 5pm.

Monday’s meeting is also a family day in conjunction with the Ballinrobe Festival. There will be an exciting line up of free activities for children to enjoy, including carnival games, magic shows, the Horse Racing Juniors Tent, a children’s playground, a comedy horse photo opportunity, face-painting, stilt walkers and cartoon characters. It promises to be a great day out for all the family. This exciting meeting offers a seven race card, with gates open just after 3pm, and the first race is off two hours later.

Tuesday evening’s National Hunt card features the BoyleSports Handicap Hurdle with a prize fund of €15,000, and again the first race goes to post just after 5pm. The Cliona Hagan Race Dance makes a welcome return once, and it commences after racing, once again being staged in conjunction with the Ballinrobe Festival. The team at Ballinrobe is delighted to see Cliona return again  this year, and the evening provides great value entertainment, with racing and the race dance admission  available for only €15!

Ballinrobe Racecourse hosts a number of events as part of the Ballinrobe Festival next weekend.m Abbaesque will play live in The Mask Pavilion on Friday, July 28th, with popular band Ash headlining on Saturday, July 29th. The Queen of The Lakes competition will be the finale  to the Festival on Sunday evening, July 30th, again at the racecourse.
