Bellewstown Racecourse is beautifully situated on a hill-top setting which boasts magnificent views of the Mountains of Mourne to the North and the Irish Sea to the East. The racecourse famously attracts big crowds for their festival dates in early July and mid-August. All meetings at Bellewstown take place in the evening time and while it may be small in stature, Bellewstown racecourse is big in heart and atmosphere. A left-handed racecourse, it provides for Flat and hurdle racing. The racecourse is ideally situated, only minutes from the M1 motorway, the main Dublin/Belfast road. The tradition of Summer racing at Bellewstown dates back centuries and the first record of racing appears in the August edition of the Dublin Gazette and the Weekly Courier in 1726.
