Paddy Dunican RIP
Sadly, this weekend we lost Paddy Dunican, Manager of Kilbeggan Racecourse in tragic circumstances. We were shocked and saddened to hear such terrible news. Our thoughts and prayers are with those closest to Paddy at this difficult time.
Paddy has been the manager of Kilbeggan Racecourse for over 35 years. His passion for the racecourse and commitment to the betterment of its circumstances was unwavering. Advocating on behalf of Kilbeggan Racecourse was his motivation and primary purpose and he successfully turned the track around during his time at the helm.
During that period, Paddy ensured an increased number of fixtures, he oversaw numerous capital development funded projects with precision and secured many long-standing sponsorships and partnership agreements.
Within our association, Paddy was a remarkable character and an active member of AIR since the early days. He served numerous terms on our Boards of Directors and was our Vice Chairman for 8 years.
On behalf of AIR Chairman, Conor O’Neill, our Board of Directors, Members and Staff at AIR our deepest condolences are with Paddy’s family, friends and all at Kilbeggan Racecourse at this difficult time.
At the time of writing funeral arrangements are yet to be released. Here is the link for your convenience, it is also where you can access the online condolence booklet.
